We enjoyed our beach relaxation time in Paraty so much that we decided to head about 40 minutes south to Trindade, a tiny town known for having really incredible beaches.  And they were perfect.

We stayed at a very friendly hostel and had a lot of fun hanging out with the staff and other guests there.  They had a great patio area with hammocks for reading and a bbq which we made good use of.  One night we headed down to the beach and met the fishermen and bought a really fresh fish.  We’d never seen this kind of fish before, but after Justin cleaned it up and with the help of the guys at the hostel we had a delicious fish dinner!

It was generally hot and sunny in the mornings and then cool and cloudy in the afternoons, so we spent most mornings at the beach and then our afternoons reading or hanging out at the hostel.  Very relaxing.  Even though it is a tiny town there are little restaurants all along the beach which have delicious fresh seafood and icy cold beer.

The beer in Brazil is served very, very cold and is perfect for the beach!

We needed our relaxation time, and Brazil was the perfect place for it.  Beaches, friendly people, awesome food – it has been awesome.

I wondered too (what kind of fish). Glad you’re saving your strength for party time this week.

Nothing can compare to seafood night at your place! Nothing! We’re trying to figure out what kind of fish it was, but since we don’t speak a word of Portuguese it has been a bit tough. We’ll let you know if we figure it out though! The fish was a little different than we had expected. Pretty heavy meat – almost more like a chicken texture than a flaky fish. Tasty though!
